Why Mentorship Matters for Adolescent Girls

Adolescence is a pivotal window. The guidance girls receive - or lack - shapes their confidence, choices, and futures. Binti Shupavu pairs each girl with a trained mentor who walks alongside her through four critical years.
Mentors provide more than advice; they offer consistency, belief, and a living example of what is possible. Girls in the programme report higher self-efficacy and a stronger sense of agency over their own lives.
The result is a community of young women who support one another and, increasingly, return as mentors themselves - a self-sustaining cycle of empowerment.
